Johannesburg - Two women were arrested after Klerksdorp police on Friday swooped on their house, which had been turned into a drug laboratory.
Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the Hawks, together with the police, arrested the women, both aged 44, at their house in Ellaton suburb in Klerksdorp.
"The house had a shack warehouse which was believed to be used as an old drug lab."
He said police also found dagga plants all over the house as well as dagga seeds imported from the Netherlands and Amsterdam.
"Syringes and other chemicals were also found in the house as well as a number of gas stoves and big containers with syrup," Ngubane said.
The value of the lab and its contents was not established as the police forensic experts were still busy at the scene on Friday evening, he said.
The women are expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court on June 11.
They face charges of possession of drugs and drug trafficking, Ngubane said.
