Wild Dagga: Lions Tail
Wild Dagga: Leonotis leonurus
Its scientific name is Leonotis leonurus, part of the family Lamiaceae. It is more commonly known as lions tail, lions ear, klip dagga. Evergreen shrub to 6 feet tall (1.8 m), 4 feet spread (1.2 m); velvety stems; long leaves with velvety underside and serrated margins. It needs little or no water and attention once it has rooted and stebalished itself. It is native to Southern Africa, especially South Africa. Used as a mix for tobacco or smoked alone it provides a mild buzz to the head.
