Head to Head: Silver Haze vs California Orange

Head to Head: Silver Haze vs California Orange

I've only been smoking for a few months now, so take this review with a pinch of salt.

So I've ploughed through 10g of SH and CO over the last few weeks, and here are my thoughts.

It has to be said right from the start, that the SH is the clear winner for me. It is not quite as strong as the CO, but the buzz is great. It starts with a strong rush of euphoria that slaps a smile on your face, and over the next 30min it spreads to the rest of your body. It is a very functional high. You can be buzzing your tits off, but still maintain a decent conversation and even do some impromptu plumbing at 11 at night. (true story) This is a very giggly strain. Not sure if all Hazes are like this, but I laugh my ass off, especially when smoking with a group of friends. This is a great strain for day time smoking, or when you are partying with friends. The buzz is also quite energetic and mixes well with loud music and strong hooch. A good choice for beginner smokers, as paranoia and green fever are not an issue even when copious amounts of shots are included in the mix. The high lasts about 2 hours, and then it is time to blaze it up again. You can literally keep the party going for hours as long as you keep toking every 2 hours. According to the guy I bought it from, it is roughly a 70/30 sativa dominant hybrid.

The CO is a 50/50 hybrid, and the indica traits come through alot stronger on this than it did with the SH. You feel alot more spaced out when smoking this, and it can lead to couchlock if you smoke a little too much. It also dries your mouth out quite a bit, and is a much harsher smoke than the SH. This makes it a better choice for getting goofed in front of the telly, although you are likely to fall asleep after a few hours. I know there are plenty of people that prefer this kind of high, to bouncing of the walls and dancing like a mad space cadet. Having said that though, you can still smoke this with friends and have a good time. It's just not as suited for that as the SH.

In conclusion, the SH will become part of my staple diet. I hope the Super Lemon Haze I'm trying to grow will just be a pumped up version of SH.

Yep haze plants are all generally the same high wise. Most of the different strains are usually just flavors. Haze is a pretty dominant gene.

Super silver haze was the first strain I ever smoked.

I'm glad to hear that about the SLH and hazes in general. How does Silver Haze compare to White Widow and Blueberry (sativa strain)? I'm keen to try them, but not if I'm going to be dissapointed. I don't have enough bucks to buy 10g of SH and something else. My guy only sells in 10g sections.

Yeah, the guy I buy from also suggested the blueberry. It's his favourite strain.

I thought chronic was a particular strain? Does the term chronic refer to various strains?

Chronic is a term for a good weed....probably is a strain for it....but I use the word for describing a good poison if you know what I mean.
Got big exam...reason for not smoking. :busy:

Oh ok, I suppose that makes sense. I have noticed with some of the reading I've been doing, that more than one strain gets referred to as chronic.

Good luck with the exam mate.

According to Pot culture : 1. Hip hop term for ultra potent marijuana, first noted by Dr.Dre in his album The chronic. 2. High end quality kind bud as in " Yo dawg, this bud is chronic."  3. strains leaning more to indica or indica dominance
