Bhang

Postby bh4vn35h on Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:08 am

Yo guy's thought with all this cold weather an winter on the horizon I'd share this recipe. It's like a Milkshake drink really yum trust me. Guaranteed to warm a brother up. Grew up with this drink as a kid. Really fell in love with it when I turned 18 an was allowed the marijuana version. You wana make this for kids leave out the weed. Different ways to make it but I like this one.

Image

Ingredients

2 cups water

1 ounce marijuana (fresh leaves and flowers of a female plant preferred)

4 cups warm milk

2 tablespoons blanched and chopped almonds

1/8 teaspoon ‘garam masala’ (a mixture of cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and other spices)

1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger

1/2 to 1 teaspoon rosewater

3/4 cup sugar

Directions
1. Remove all seeds and twigs from the marijuana.
2. Boil water and pour into a clean teapot.
3. Add the marijuana to the teapot and cover. Let it brew for about 7 minutes.
4. Strain the water & marijuana through a piece of muslin cloth, collect the water & save.
5. Take the leaves and flowers and squeeze between your hands to extract any liquid that remains. Add this to the water.
6. Place the leaves and flowers in a mortar and add 2 teaspoons warm milk. Slowly but firmly grind the milk and leaves together. Gather up the marijuana and squeeze out as much milk as you can. Repeat this process until you have used about 1/2 cup of milk (about 4 to 5 times). Collect all the milk that has been extracted and place in a bowl. By this time the marijuana will have turned into a pulpy mass.
7. Add the chopped almonds and add some more warm milk. Grind this in the mortar until a fine paste is formed. Squeeze this paste and collect the extract as before. Repeat a few more times until all that is left are some fibres and nut meal. Discard the residue.
8. Combine all the liquids that have been collected, including the water the marijuana was brewed in.
9. Add to this the garam masala, dried ginger and rosewater. Add the sugar and remaining milk and mix well.

Chill and serve.

Oh wait, fresh pot, I'll have to wait a little(friend is harvesting soon), other than assuming that it tastes great(know the ingredients), how is the effect, slow, mellow and long?

Once My Mum's sister from Mauritius came for Holi her batch lasted like 5 hour's, it last's usually 3 hours :) yeah bru mellowness for sure. Don't drink to much takes an hour to kick in. You can overdose yourself an pass out won't enjoy it. Have say 2 tot glasses or half a cup wait an hour or hour an a half have more if you not feeling it. Make it the day before get up the next morning try it when you feel it kicking in smoke your first joint or wait for it to phase out an then smoke your first joint.

The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking.

I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- They think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom.

The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer.

When I was younger and we used to take family trips to India I remember my dad joking about this drink because they were serving it at some temple.

My family is hindu and every family prayer we have someone always cracks a joke about why we don't serve bhang. Thanks for the recipe dude - keen to try this over the weekend!
